Why the reluctance to call for a response?

There’s a popular saying often repeated by Christians. Maybe you have even uttered these words, commonly attributed to St Francis of Assisi: “Preach the gospel. Use words if necessary.” As Christians, we should live in such a way that our lives point to the person and work of Jesus. However, good intentions cannot overcome two problems with this quote. God’s business or just busyness?

A church I know was running a large and successful Christmas outreach program and one of the church members involved invited her neighbour. She came along and enjoyed it and, afterwards, said to the church member, “That was a great story about the baby in a manger. I’ve never heard it before. Did you write it?”

WA Baptists get new makeover

It’s not often that I have anything positive to say when it comes to Baptists and the web, and especially Baptists and logos.  However, I’ve always believed in credit where credit is due – and those cousins of ours over in the West have had a successful makeover resulting in a brand new logo and a new website.  And I think they’ve nailed it.
