Restoring Brokenness

I’ve kicked the conference habit.  There was a day when I couldn’t get enough of them. But there’s only so many variations on the theme of ‘Fire’ one man can take, or only so many megapastors with churches the size of small australian town you can take before your already low self esteem bottoms out. However, I’m about to relapse, thanks to Enfield Baptist Church.  This year’s Lifewell Conference – Restored 2011, builds on the strengths of the established annual conference.  The guest list and topics are quite unlike most conferences you’ll get to go to in Australia.

Senior Pastor John Beasy says

“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here’ (2011 2 Cor 5:17). The first Christians believed that the implications of the resurrection were for the entire creation. They saw that the resurrection of Jesus began a movement to restore all things that were broken. God has restored; is restoring; and will restore, renew and reclaim all things

People everywhere – both those following Jesus and those hurting in our communities – need churches who embrace their call to partner with God in His work of putting ‘all things’ back together again. Churches of all shapes and sizes can become restorative communities that will effectively respond to the needs of the whole person with the good news of life through Jesus. But in order to be effective we need a plan… We need both the Spirit and a Strategy. Lifewell is one helpful and wholistic strategy in restoring lives through Jesus. This is where Lifewell Conference can serve you and your local church. LWC11 will be an inspiring 2 days & 2 nights empowering you to fulfil God’s design to live life well and equipping your church to respond wholistically to the needs of those around them. To champion this cause, we are excited to welcome back Steve Arterburn – best selling author and gifted communicator. He amazed us all with his humourous and inspirational stories and teaching in 2008, and he comes with a fresh and powerful word from God for you and your church in 2011.

LWC11 will again be led by the Lifewell Band in an inspiring celebration of God’s love and restoring power. Trained therapeutic masseuses enable you to receive healing touch during the breaks, bringing relief and relaxation to aching bodies. This is certainly a much loved part of Lifewell Conferences and a recognition of the concern of God for our whole lives – physical, emotional and spiritual.”
