Getting The Message Across

Baptist churches have become very good at connecting with their local community and building relationships throughout their local communities but what about when it comes to being able to explain the reasons for the hope they have found in Jesus?

Many Baptist churches are in effect community centres, hosting a range of events and initiatives that benefit their local community. Baptists are engaged in building and maintaining long term relationships where trust and credibility is built up. However, there is amongst many a lack of confidence and to some degree competence in engaging with people explicitly about the Gospel

Getting The Message Across is a training seminar developed by Crossover, to help people become more confident and competent in sharing their faith. This training event is suitable for a half day program or could be run over a couple of evenings. It has already been successfully run in both individual church and combined church events on a Saturday morning.

Getting The Message Across covers a range of essential topics including:

The Gospel In A Nutshell
Helping people understand how to encapsulate the Gospel in a truncated fashion so that the hearer is left with at least a foundational understanding of the Good News of the Gospel.

Calling People Across The Line
Helping people understand how to sensitively articulate the challenge of Jesus to follow him, and how to invite people to respond.

The Power Of Your Story
Using your faith story to tell the Gospel.

The style of this training event is interactive, and will encourage contributions so that the training is collaborative.

If you are interested in hosting a training event at your church please talk to your respective State Crossover Taskforce member. We would like to facilitate as much training as we can; to partner with churches in helping their people share their faith confidently.
